Choosing a Domain
Name
A domain name is basically the address of your
site that users will enter in their web browser (like Internet Explorer
or Netscape) to access your web site.
For example this site's domain name is siteFX.co.uk
The ".co.uk" extension (called TLD, top-level
domains) is most common for U.K. web sites. Commercial organizations
commonly use .com and non-profit organizations might prefer using
.org
Unfortunately, you will find that most common words
and sentences are already in use, especially in the .com space,
so you will need to be creative with your domain name. More choices
are available with new TLDs (such as .biz .name or .blah). SiteFX
can help you choose a suitable domain name by producing a list of
available options best suited to your requirements.
